Your work is yours. This policy distinguishes between using Markitown, visiting markitown.app and any contact you choose to initiate with Gabhel Studios SL. You do not need to write to us or provide personal information to read or edit your documents.
Privacy at a glance
Markitown does not collect any data. It does not require an account, include analytics tools or track your activity. Your documents are processed on your device; we do not receive or store their contents.
We do not maintain usage profiles or use the contents of your files for advertising or model training. Opening an instruction file for an AI agent does not connect Markitown to that agent or send us the instructions: to Markitown, it is a Markdown document.
Who we are and how to contact us
Gabhel Studios SL is the company that publishes Markitown and this website. Its VAT identification number (NIF-IVA) is ESB86731155 and its address is C/ Anabel Segura, 10, planta 3.ª, edificio F, Alcobendas, Madrid, Spain.
If you choose to contact us, Gabhel Studios SL is the controller of the personal data in that correspondence. For privacy enquiries or to exercise your rights, email info@gabhel.com.
What we declare in our App Store listings
Markitown’s App Store privacy declaration is “Data Not Collected”. It expresses the same principle as this policy: we do not collect data through the app. It does not mean “data collected anonymously” or “data not linked to you”; it means that Markitown does not collect data.
Apple’s privacy labels summarise the practices declared by the developer for the app. Apple’s processing when you use its store, your Apple Account or its services is governed by Apple’s privacy information and does not make those services data collection by Markitown.
An email you choose to send to support is voluntary correspondence with the company, not information collected silently while you use the app. Its purpose and handling are explained separately in this policy.
Your files and the locations you choose
Markitown works with Markdown and text files in the locations you choose. It does not require you to import documents into a Gabhel Studios SL service and does not create an account to store them on our servers. Reading, editing, searching or exporting your documents does not transmit their contents to us.
If you use iCloud Drive or another file provider, the service you choose handles storage and synchronisation under its terms and your settings. Opening those files with Markitown does not give us a copy of them or access to your storage.
A document may contain images hosted on the internet or external links. When a remote resource is requested or a link is opened, the destination server receives the request needed to deliver it, including the connection’s IP address. Accessing that third party does not send the document to Gabhel Studios SL. Consider the source of any resources you include in your files.
Purchases and Apple services
The full version of Markitown is an optional, one-off in-app purchase, not a subscription. The App Store processes the purchase through your Apple Account. Markitown does not have its own payment gateway, and we do not receive your card details.
Your Apple Account, receipts, purchase restoration and refund requests are managed through Apple’s mechanisms. Your device’s diagnostic and privacy options are managed in the relevant system settings.
This website and your preferences
This website does not use analytics tools, advertising trackers or remote fonts. Your appearance preference is saved only in your browser and is not sent to us.
Delivering a page requires the browser and server to exchange technical request information, such as the IP address and the resource requested. This is different from introducing analytics or advertising tools and does not mean that the website receives the documents you open in the app.
This optional support form collects your name, email address, subject, and message to handle your inquiry. Cloudflare processes technical data, including your IP address, for security through Turnstile; a Cloudflare Worker validates the request and sends it through Resend, which transmits it to info@gabhel.com. This form does not use analytics or access your documents. These providers may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), with applicable safeguards. See their linked privacy policies. If the anti-abuse check fails, you can email info@gabhel.com instead.
If you choose to contact support
Contacting support is optional and separate from using Markitown. If you write to us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include so that we can reply. Do not send passwords, private keys or confidential documents.
An enquiry may include a name, a subject, a description of the problem, the operating system or app version, and any files or screenshots you choose to attach. We do not need general access to your device or documents to receive a request. Please keep your message to what is necessary and remove irrelevant information about other people.
We use the correspondence to address your enquiry and follow up on it. It does not sign you up for advertising or add analytics to the app. The legal basis is performance of the contract or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, where applicable, and our legitimate interest in responding to other enquiries you send us, under Articles 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
Retention of correspondence
Gabhel Studios SL does not retain documents or activity histories obtained through the use of Markitown. Deleting a document or a synchronised copy is managed in the location and service where you saved it.
Correspondence you send us, including any files you choose to attach, is retained for as long as necessary to address your enquiry and follow up on it and, where applicable, for the periods required by legal obligations or to deal with claims. You may request its erasure, subject to the limits set by applicable law. This voluntary correspondence is separate from your documents and activity in the app, which Markitown does not collect.
Your rights
For personal information you have provided when contacting us, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and, where applicable, portability, or object to processing, by emailing info@gabhel.com. If any processing were based on your consent, you could withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
We will handle requests within the time limits and requirements of the GDPR. We will only ask for additional identification information where necessary to verify the identity of the person exercising the right. If you believe we have not handled your request correctly, you may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos) or the competent supervisory authority where you live.
You do not need to request deletion of a Markitown account, because the app does not require an account. Nor can we give you a usage history or a copy of your documents stored by us, because we do not collect that information.
Changes and contact
We will update this policy when the practices it describes or applicable law change. The last-updated date identifies the version of the text. This policy provides privacy information; it does not turn continued use of Markitown into consent to new processing.
